Welcome, I’m Kris.
I have been a teacher for more than 25 years. I’ve had the unique opportunity to teach in public school classrooms, in homeschool co-ops like Classical Conversations, M.A.T.H. Academy, and Cor Community, and (my favorite) in my own home with my three wonderful children, who are now adults. These days I teach 3rd and 4th grade ELA and social studies at a private school, and I tutor struggling readers one-on-one here in the Edmond/OKC area.
Recently, I’ve started writing my own materials so they fit my classroom and my tutoring students just right. A leveled reader’s theater so every child in a mixed class can read the same story. A history timeline that weaves Oklahoma into the bigger American story. A handwriting program that turns practice into an apprenticeship. They’re all here, made for classrooms, co-ops, and couches.
Pages Yet Written started with a different dream. I’ve always wanted to write a novel. That dream still flickers on the back burner, and this blog is where I keep the spark alive: essays, writing prompts, and wild thoughts that tend to show up while I’m cleaning the house. Some are about teaching. Some are about starting over, staying curious, and figuring out my own mental space. All of them are about becoming the author of my own life.
Here’s what you’ll find:
📚 Teaching Resources: curriculum and tools I’ve created and tested with real students.
✏️ Between the Lines: what I’m discovering about helping kids read, focus, and manage big feelings.
🌱 Pages Yet Written: essays about life, learning, and growing.
I’m so glad you’re here.
